Parenting Support Services
At From the Start, we walk alongside parents, offering support that’s grounded in neuroscience, child development, and real-life parenting. Our goal is to help you understand what’s happening in your child’s brain and body, so you can respond with confidence, not confusion.
We provide:
One-on-One Parenting Support: Personalised sessions to help you navigate the day-to-day challenges, from tantrums and meltdowns to sleep, transitions, and school struggles.
Brain-Based Behaviour Support: We help you understand the “why” behind your child’s behaviour and offer practical strategies that are developmentally appropriate and connection-focused.
Workshops and Online Courses: Evidence-informed, accessible education for parents of children aged 0–16, with a focus on emotional regulation, neurodiversity, and building strong, secure relationships.
Early Childhood & School-Age Support: Tailored guidance for the early years, big transitions, or ongoing behavioural concerns, whether your child is neurotypical or neurodivergent.
Support for Families of All Neurotypes: Whether your child is autistic, ADHD, highly sensitive, or simply struggling to regulate, we’re here to help you support them in a way that works for their brain.
You don’t need to have all the answers, we’re here to help you find what works for your child, your family, and your values.
Positive Behaviour Support
At From the Start, our Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach is grounded in compassion, connection, and a deep understanding of the brain and body. We support children, particularly those with disabilities or neurodivergent profiles, by looking beyond the behaviour to understand what’s driving it.
Rather than managing behaviour through control or compliance, we focus on improving the quality of life for the whole child and their family. We work closely with parents and caregivers to create practical, individualised strategies that reduce distress and promote safety, regulation, and wellbeing.
Our approach is:
Person-centred: Every plan is tailored to your child’s unique needs, preferences, communication style, and developmental stage.
Developmentally informed: We consider where your child is at in their brain and body development, not just their age or diagnosis.
Compassionate and strengths-based: We don’t see children as “difficult.” We see them as doing the best they can with the tools they have, and we help them build more.
Collaborative: You know your child best. We work alongside you, your child, and their team to create support that’s sustainable and effective.
Positive Behaviour Support isn’t about quick fixes. It’s about creating a foundation of understanding, safety, and trust, so your child can grow, learn, and connect in a way that feels right for them.
